Are there any materials or substances I need to avoid when testing?

Yes! Some materials are inhibitors to the qPCR process that the lab uses to analyze mold in your sample. Chemicals like household cleaners, detergents, dry wall dust, or concrete particles, or ash are capable of inhibiting analysis. If you have recently undertaken renovation or remediation processes that would introduce many of these substances, it is best to clean, and then let dust accumulate before using the test.
